When warmer weather arrives in Idaho, you may want to put on your gardening gloves. But for less seasoned green fingers, you may find yourself frustrated and less satisfied with what is popping up in your yard. Perhaps you started a garden as a pandemic hobby last year, but aren’t sure it’s worth the effort this year.
Jamie Brennan wants you to try again. When the pandemic forced her to find a new career after her magazine writing job dried up, she moved into the hyper-local world of the vegetable garden. Brennan started a garden coaching company in Boise last spring to encourage more people to grow food from their backyards, windows and balconies.
She tells Idaho Matters how new gardeners can gain confidence in the dirt and feed themselves this year.
