When the officers arrived, they found Gribble and took him into custody for trespassing.

Break-in on Sunday

Officials were in the Schley and Wynne area at 10 a.m. on Sunday to report a break-in.

Upon arrival, the officers were told that someone had entered the apartment through the back door and that the owners were not home. When trying to enter the apartment, a phone call came in that a woman had been stalked by a man with a gun. Two of the officers stayed to investigate the ongoing break-in while the other responded to the second call.

It turned out that this call was allegedly made by Nicole Lee Hannawalt, 33, from Butte, who, with the help of Christopher Lee Rasmussen, 37, from Butte, lured an officer out of the burglary scene.

Meanwhile, the two officers found Jacob Warren Elkins, 29, of Butte in the residence with stolen items in his possession. Another witness informed the officers that a woman had previously been traveling with the man in a Volkswagen. The officers found the car and took Hannawalt and Rasmussen into custody during a traffic stop.

Elkins has been jailed for a burglary and obstruction of a police officer and an MHP arrest warrant along with two arrest warrants for a Butte City Court misdemeanor.
