MUMBAI: One day after Union Minister Narayan Rane said he was “beating” Maharashtra Prime Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Shiv Sainiks protested outside his bungalow in the Juhu neighborhood in the western suburb of Mumbai.
The protests were attended not only by Sena workers but also by the party’s youth wing, Yuva Sena. “Instead of just making noise on social media, have you (Nitesh Rane) come out of the bungalow. We wait outside. Don’t you dare challenge Yuva Sena. His bungalow is not a lions den, it is a rodent hole, ”said Varun Sardesai, Yuva Sena secretary.
Yuva Sena activists protest outside Narayan Rane’s bungalow in Juhu. Sena corporator and Yuva Sena official Amey Ghole also took part in the protest.
Sardesai is a maternal cousin of the chief of Yuva Sena and the cabinet minister of Maharashtra, Aaditya Thackeray.
Some of Yuva Sena’s activists were injured in a light lathi attack by police while they tried to control the situation.
Rane had given the explanation for Thackeray’s ignorance of the year of India’s independence.
Sardesai said Uddhav Thackeray was not only prime minister of the state but also party president and like a god to party workers.
While addressing the demonstrators, the leader of Yuva Sena congratulated the workers and said the protest was successful. He appealed to supporters that everyone should go and file a case against Rane at their local police station.
