WMTW (Channel 8 in Portland) spoke to Jim Dill, pest control specialist at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, about bed bugs in light of the Portland Housing Authority (PHA), which is working to control a bed bug infestation in Franklin Towers as residents of two other PHA properties , Solterra and Bayside Anchor are reporting persistent bed bug and roach infestations. “They run under your door, out of your apartment and across the hall to another. They travel along pipes, they travel along electrical wires. If you don’t eliminate them from all units, it will only infest it again,” Dill said.
