Amarillo Zoo Letting You Title Rodents and Roaches For Valentine’s

It’s an annual tradition at most zoos around the country, and our Amarillo zoo is no exception. This year, you can name a cockroach, cricket, or rodent after someone. Then on February 13th, you can watch them being devoured.

Usually the idea is that you name them after an ex or someone who gets on your nerves. I suppose a person could name a rodent after someone they still have strong feelings for, but that gives off really weird “Willard” vibes.

If you’ve never seen the movie before, follow this link and expand your horizons.

The Amarillo Zoo will provide you with a digital certificate that encourages you to share, send and publish. You can get the details by following this link.

There are many names a person could assign to one of these snack creatures. Karen comes to mind as Karen is now accepted as a description rather than a name.

Corona would be a good one. Covid would be another excellent choice.

I imagine Jason could be a popular choice this year.

My friends and I got something like this for Valentine’s Day when we were young bachelors. We called it “Pal-entine” and it was always gag gifts and things that you had to hide from your parents.

Whether you get this as a gag gift or use it to get some sort of clasp after a really bad break up keeping your favorite hoodie in, you can still watch the feeding.

Happy Valentines Day.
