AFFEW hosts a workshop on home gardening on the Lakeshore Resource Network

A Few Friends for the World Environment (AFFEW) are hosting on Saturday, January 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Lakeshore Resource Network, 920 E. Tinkham Ave., Ludington from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.: 00 a.m. workshop on home gardening on a budget.

Anyone who has ever wanted to transform a personal landscape into a pollinator garden, rain garden, or grassland to replace traditional landscapes is encouraged to attend this hands-on workshop.

Sarah Pregitzer demonstrates methods of propagating and planting natives that are cheap, easy, and successful. She will talk about collecting and storing native seeds, site preparation, winter sowing and making seedballs.

Participants will receive information and materials to start transforming their own home garden. Admission is $5 for members or $10 for non-members.
