Bed bugs are a very common problem – but many of us may not know that we are sleeping with the tiny critters.
Because they are virtually invisible to the human eye, they can often be difficult to see.
But if you spot the crafty bugs that feast on us when we sleep, then you really need to get rid of them.
While they’re unlikely to cause serious harm, they can cause itchy red bumps on your skin wherever you liked them.
In some more serious cases of bedbug bites, the pesky little pests can cause a rash or even fluid-like blisters.
Itching? Fear not, here are the six most important indicators that the pests have found a home in your bed.

According to the NHS website, there may be some obvious signs of the bed bugs that you can easily look for.
The list is as follows:

Small bugs or tiny white eggs in the crevices and crevices of your mattress and furniture – use a bright flashlight to check
-
Red bite marks on your skin
-
Small black spots on your mattress – this could be your dried poop
-
Bed bug shells – Bed bugs shed their skin as they grow
-
Blood stains on your sheet – these can happen if you crush a beetle after it has eaten its way

An unpleasant musty smell in your bedroom

The NHS recommends covering the affected areas with a damp cloth if they itch and advises not to scratch the affected areas.
If the itching becomes severe, antihistamines or mild steroid creams can help relieve symptoms.
However, if you are concerned about having infected wounds from the bites, a visit to your family doctor is the best option.
To get rid of bed bugs, contact your community or pest control service.
Be sure to hot wash the affected bed linen and clothing and tumble dry for at least 30 minutes.
Alternatively, you can put affected items in a plastic bag and freeze them to kill the critters.
It also helps to clean and vacuum your home on a regular basis.
