Senator Richard Blumenthal is calling for responses to a series of complaints about bedbugs and rats in a senior Norwalk apartment complex.

A group called Fix Cedar Court Now! says residents have filed the same complaints for months, but nothing has been done to address the issues.

Resident Robert Pascarelli says the complex is taking revenge on him for blowing the whistle by contacting the health department.

“If I could get out of there I would, but I’m on Social Security, you can’t get any other senior housing, the list is four, five years, some of them,” he says.

Senator Blumenthal says the owner of the property needs to fix things asap.

“The Cedar Court receives federal money. It should be held accountable for providing decent housing with that tax money,” he says.

News 12 reached out to the complex for comment.
