Brooklyn Water Bagel in East Boca Raton has been ordered closed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The popular Brooklyn Water Bagel location at 2250 North Federal Highway was closed by a Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspector after several flying insects were found in the restaurant during a routine check.

Two more inspections were required before the state of Florida allowed Brooklyn Water Bagel to reopen.

Per BocaNewsNow.com guidelines, the following is the exact language – without editing – recorded by the State of Florida during the September 12 and 13 inspections. The restaurant was ordered to close on September 12th.

FIRST INSPECTION ON SEPTEMBER 12, 2022

High Priority – Live, small flying insects in kitchen, food prep area, food storage area and/or bar area. 3 live flies land on dining room utensil dispensers 1 live flies land on coffee pot Approximately 10 live flies on dining room walls 3 live flies land on front of open refrigerated display case 2 live flies on open disposable items in kitchen 4 live flies on closed boxes with Disposables in the kitchen Approximately 20 live flies on the walls of the bagel kitchen 2 live flies on the wall above the cooktop in the kitchen 1 live fly on the ticket bar at the cooktop in the kitchen 1 live fly in the open clamshell to-go container the cooking area in the kitchen. container discarded.

SECOND INSPECTION ON SEPTEMBER 12, 2022

The problem was found acceptable at an inspection on September 13, when the restaurant was allowed to reopen.
