The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), the public relations agency of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), is celebrating Termite Awareness Week from March 7-13.

The PPMA encourages Pest Control Professionals (PMPs) to participate in the annual Termite Awareness Week observance. PMPs can use PPMA’s marketing materials to continue educating consumers about termite threats and prevention.

“Termites cause a staggering $ 5 billion in property damage annually in the US. These costs are typically not covered by homeowner insurance,” said Cindy Mannes, executive director of PPMA. “We urge our industry partners to ensure that homeowners understand that termite infestation is not a DIY job and that pest control professionals are ready to help them protect one of their biggest investments – their home.”

This annual designation is recognized on Chase’s calendar of events and serves as an important reminder to homeowners of the property risks and costly damage associated with termites.

To participate, use the hashtag #TermiteAwarenessWeek on all social media posts when sharing termite content. PPMA has also created an exclusive toolkit for Termite Awareness Week 2021 that provides professional marketing materials for PMPs to share on their corporate websites and social media pages. PPMA contributors can get exclusive access to these materials on PPMAMainframe.org.
