MARQUETTE, me. (WLUC) – The Marquette Community added greenery to their home decor and gardens this weekend.

The 6th annual plant swap took place on Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00 at Woodlands Church in Marquette.

It was free for anyone who wanted to take or leave plants.

Plants available included tomatoes, lettuce, marigolds, and other types of flowers.

Event organizers included the Queen City Seed Library, Transition Marquette County, Marquette Growth, and Let’s Grow KI

“Over the years we’ve made any number of friends through these plant swaps,” says event organizer Steve Finley. “So it’s a great time to see all the people we know and how everyone loves to share. The whole idea is how we can help a community grow food.”

Any plants left after the event were donated to the local community gardens.
