A mother of three was convicted after a police investigation into a bizarre incident in her Howland home.
19-year-old Madison Culver was serving a one-month prison sentence Thursday after being convicted of assault and harm to children.
Culver and their children’s 24-year-old father, Lucas Snyder, were arrested after police and paramedics entered their home on Elmwood Ave. on March 25th. NE had been called.
Police say they arrived to find a woman in the front yard who was changing diapers for two children. Both children were covered in their own feces.
The woman told the police that she saw one of the children hanging out of a window at home. Another child was found playing with water in the bathtub. According to the report, the children were between 8 months and three years old.
Police say a man who walked in front of the house had lipstick and eyeliner on his face and penises on his arms. Snyder appeared to have painted white cat whiskers on his face.
Once inside, police say they found the kitchen full of dirty dishes, insects, and so much rubbish on the floor that it was reported to be difficult to walk.
A woman who was sitting on a mattress in a back room nodded off, the police say.
What the police called vomit was on the wall and floor of the hallway, which were littered with trash and dirty clothes. An old hamburger was lying on a bed stained with feces.
In the bathroom, the police found a litter box that had apparently not been cleaned in weeks.
There was stagnant water in the bathtub, officials said.
The back floor of the bedroom was littered with trash, food, diapers, and broken dishes on the bedside table.
According to the report, there were also two large bottles that appeared to be filled with urine. Liquid had hardened in baby bottles and drinking cups.
The police also confiscated a bong and several marijuana pipes from the house.
When Snyder refused to leave the house, the police said they would have to wrestle him to the ground. The report says that Culver was arrested after repeatedly punching an office and a paramedic with her fists.
Both parents were sent to prison. The children were handed over to the grandparents.
In addition to jail time, Culver will be on probation for two years and will not be able to see her children without prior childcare approval.
Snyder, who is charged with three child endangerment cases and opposes arrest and obstruction of official business, faces another hearing in Warren Municipal Court next month.
