As tens of thousands crossed the finish line of the New York City Marathon, Mark Fisher fitness trainer Mark Crowthers was recovering from surgery that eliminated him from the race. “Well… that’s not how I imagined the few days leading up to the New York City Marathon, but here we are. Thursday I had an emergency appendectomy after experiencing mild abdominal pain. Am I heartbroken that I can’t celebrate four months of training? Yes. But of course my health comes first. The outpouring of love, support and encouragement I received throughout my training was unforgettable. And the generosity of so many of YOU who helped me raise $11,479 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is something I will never take for granted. I’m fine and feeling better every day. I will cross that finish line next year,” Chris said on Instagram. We wish him a speedy recovery…
