CD Projekt Red continues to update Cyberpunk 2077 with the 1.2 patch, but it looks like it has even more problems despite the fixes.

Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most talked about games when it was released in late 2020. The highly anticipated open world game from CD Projekt Red wowed fans for its atmosphere and its roots in the tabletop RPG field. Cyberpunk 2077’s launch was full of controversial issues, however, and the new 1.2 patch brings a few more bugs that come with the fixes.

The infamous title was released with a host of issues until it was even removed from the PlayStation Store. Omnipresent errors such as visual glitches, strange animations, and questionable AI are particularly noticeable. Since launch, the developers have released updates to improve the experience and suppress frustrated gamers. With all of the improvements in the 1.2 patch, CD Projekt Red managed to cause additional problems.

It may come as a surprise to gamers that some of these new bugs can be just as extreme. For example, the weather in Night City cannot be overlooked. Reddit user AugustusUwU made a video in which a permanent sandstorm covers the entire locale. Another clip shows how the AI in Cyberpunk 2077 is far from perfect. JoakoLP’s Reddit post gives a look at a pretty goofy NCPD AI that is going around in circles and through barricades despite the big changes to the police system.

Players continued to beat up the 1.2 patch on the game’s subreddit with more video evidence of glitches. Another user, levihed61, posted a gameplay where held guns are completely invisible. Though viewers are quick to forget when they look at the terribly blurry facial structures of enemies. Even more bizarre are numerous cases of flashing clothing textures and the motorcycle speedometer projected onto a billboard on the side of the road.

Unfortunately, CD Projekt Red’s evolution into a sci-fi game is still rocky at best. No matter how many bugs the team tries to fix, it seems fans are always able to find new ones to post. However, update 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 fixes hundreds of problematic aspects, as can be seen in the full patch notes. The main character V can finally sleep properly in bed and the NCPD spawn radius is increased when players commit a crime. There also appear to be tweaking fixes for next generation consoles like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

For many gamers, it may be too late for developers to save the game. It’s not available on the PlayStation Store to this day, which also hinders those who want to step in. It seems like the team is rethinking multiplayer as well, which means the content may shrink once it starts up. Even so, other titles have returned from malicious launches, and with CD Projekt Red sticking to patches, Cyberpunk 2077 should get smoother over time.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X | S are currently under development.
