The local gardener has been tending her plants for years.
A popular Bucks County author and garden enthusiast showcases her large garden that has garnered national attention. Nancy Ondra wrote about her large garden in Report Wire.
Hayefield, which Nancy Ondra has looked after for over 20 years, literally began as a hayfield on her family’s farm. After building her own log home, the property became her full-time home.
Ondra’s books such as Tried and True Perennials and Five-Plant Gardens: 52 Ways to Grow a Perennial Garden with Just Five Plants have made her a wealth of information for outdoor enthusiasts across the country.
“Over the years, the garden areas have served many purposes,” Ondra said. “They were a living laboratory where I worked on plant combinations, color themes and experimented with gardening techniques for the books I wrote. They have also created endless possibilities for garden photography.”
With a combination of wild plants and vegetables in their kitchen garden, the property has become a well-known natural site for garden lovers to enjoy and take notes.
