Andrew Tate: lice, mattress bugs are my solely mates

ALBAWABA – Controversial internet personality Andrew Tate spoke about the miserable conditions in his Romanian prison cell, claiming it was “inhumane” and infested with “lice and bugs”.

On December 29, Romanian police arrested Tate, his brother Tristan and two other Romanian nationals on charges of human trafficking, rape and forming an organized crime group to exploit women online. Tate denied any wrongdoing.

On Wednesday, Tate released a message to his followers saying it was his “first email” from prison. He claimed the prison conditions were “inhuman”. He said his prison cell had no light and that the room was full of cockroaches, lice and bed bugs.

“They’re trying to break me,” he said of his opponents, whom he didn’t identify.

“Thrown into a cell with no light. Roaches, lice and bed bugs are my only friends at night,” he wrote. “When the guards take me to and from the courtroom, I remain absolutely respectful.”

But he added: “They are trying to pour hate into my heart.”

Tate is convinced that the prison guards believe he is innocent. “They know I’m innocent, they’re just doing their job, they have families to support,” he said.

Tate’s Twitter feed is still posting, but it’s unclear if he posted himself or someone else.

He tweeted a verse from the Koran: “Allah is the ally of those who believe. He brings them out of the darkness into the light.”
