On June 14, 2021, a woman visited the American Deli at 3124 Eastway Drive Charlotte, NC. But to their great surprise, there was a flying insect in their food. The woman bought the food for her 9 year old son.

When her son opened the box to eat his meal, the insect was alive and stuck to the sauce under the fries. The video shows how the insect moves frantically.

The boy made his mother aware of the insect in his food. The mother immediately turned her vehicle around and headed back to the American Deli.

The mother returned and asked for a refund. However, the American Deli staff initially refused to give the woman a refund because they knew and saw the fault in the food.

The mother threatened to call the district health department. At that time, American Deli refunded the loving mother’s money.

The mother also tried to contact the American Deli corporate office, but they never answered the phone.

American Deli often scores poorly on food safety inspections. On June 15, 2021, an American Deli restaurant received 85 B.
