Liverpool – Manchester United: “Very strange” whistle at halftime against Sadio Mane makes Jürgen Klopp unhappy
Jurgen Klopp was frustrated with what he thought was an early whistle at halftime during Liverpool’s tie with Manchester United – which denied Sadio Mane a potential scoring opportunity. After a cage-like opening in the 45th minute, Mane appeared ready to run for a pass in the middle – but referee Paul Tierney decided to blow his whistle to stop the first half. Klopp seemed stumped by the decision, while Liverpool fans furiously pointed out on social media that the whistle seemed to blow six seconds before the allotted – and at least – minute injury time.
