According to Alal, the couple are saving what little money they make selling papyrus mats, poultry, dried cassava chips, and pets.

She added that every now and then they would take some money out of the suitcase hidden under their bed to treat or support their children.

Alal and Tito, who are blessed with six grandchildren, live in Kali-Kali Village, Rec Iceke Parish, Layima Subdistrict, Uganda.

They remain optimistic that someone will come to their aid and exchange the damaged notes.
