Kolkata, Jan 5 (PTI) Trinamool Congress MLA Baishali Dalmiya on Tuesday alleged that “some party leaders” in Howrah district are responsible for accelerating a situation that leads to Laxmiratan Shukla’s resignation from the state ministry.
Shukla, the minister of state for youth and sports, resigned from office on Tuesday. The politician turned cricketer sent his resignation letter to Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee, who accepted it and forwarded the letter to Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Dalmiya, the TMC MLA of Bally, Howrah District, claimed that a certain lobby was the focus and that words of loyal party members were not being heard.
“Some termites are finishing the Trinamool convention in Howrah while the words of loyal members are not being heard,” she said.
“It seems that there is no solution to our complaints. A certain lobby is at the center of Howrah District and does not allow us to work. Laxmi’s decision was made by these people,” said Dalmiya.
When asked about her future plans, Dalmiya said: “I have no political background. I will continue to be with the people and on the side of the people in the future.”
West Bengal Forest Minister and Domjur MLA Rajib Banerjee, who recently voiced his reservations about the way some party leaders work, said he has not had an opportunity to work with Shukla recently and does not know what prompted the decision (Shukla resigns). PTI SUS RG RG
