Other acts that have recently caught the NFT buzz include Lindsay Lohan, Kings Of Leon, Grimes, Aphex Twin, and – controversial – Gorillaz, which have been deemed hypocritical due to the format’s impact on climate change.

As NME’s Mark Beaumont explained on a recent blog, “NFTs act like digital gold bars, rare trading cards, or paintings that are kept safe – they’re kept on the blockchain (basically a cloud for financial assets, but where everyone is Having an account will keep a note of what you own on your behalf, but you can only sell or trade them as collectibles. “

Meanwhile, Crahan recently confirmed that the band was writing new music.

“We take the time to write new music,” said the drummer. “The past week we just had a good time, ate lots of food, and wrote God’s music. So we’re having a good time. “

He added, “Because everyone took their time [during the coronavirus pandemic]We thought we’d use it by sitting down and doing what we probably do best: write music.

“So it was good because there is no pressure. It’s not that we have to. We do it because we want to. And it was just a blessing because boredom can arise. And I know we all go crazy in the world so we’re really lucky to be able to be together and do what we love most. “

Slipknot recently released a teaser for the South American dates of their curated music festival Knotfest in 2021.
