The Alameda County Social Services Agency has temporarily closed its office in Eastmont Town Center in Oakland because employees reported rodents in the building, an agency spokeswoman said Friday.

The office was temporarily closed from Thursday. Spokeswoman Sylvia Soublet said Friday that the office closure is for the health and safety of employees and the public.

She said the office was being cleaned and could open again in about two weeks. Anyone in need of social services can get them from any of the five other offices the agency maintains in the county.

The two in Oakland are located at 2000 San Pablo Ave and 8477 Enterprise Way. The agency also has offices in Hayward, Livermore, and Fremont that can provide services to residents who have gone to Eastmont Town Center.

Soublet said the Eastmont Town Center office staff are at least temporarily working in the agency’s other offices.

Some services can also be obtained from the agency’s website at https://www.alamedacountysocialservices.org/index.page.
