Most Termite-Infested Cities in America in 2021, Ranked

Termites are the second most common threat in the world, if the Bugs Bunny cartoons are to be believed. They are, of course, second only to quicksand.

In that case, Looney Tunes may not be the best authority on the matter. Termites won’t gobble anything out of wood in seconds. Even so, they can be a major nuisance. Orkin has compiled its annual list of the 50 Worst Cities for Termites to let you know exactly where they are the biggest nuisance. (Maybe these really are the best cities for termites and the worst cities for termite-hating people.)

According to the National Pest Management Association, the small animals cause more than $ 5 billion in property damage annually. Orkin says termite treatments increased in 2020 compared to the previous year. The company is driving people to spend more time at home (where they notice damage), lots of people buying new homes, and a record storm and hurricane season that provides the humid environment that termites thrive.

Once again, Miami tops the list of great places to be a social termite. The sunny city of Florida follows The angel and Tampa. The first three are the same as the 2019 list. After that, there are Risers and Fallers, including Washington, DC, jumping two spots to # 4. The ranking is based on data on where the company performed the most termite treatments from February 1, 2020 to January 31, 2021.
