Warren County Environmental Health wants to remind local residents of the dangers of bed bugs and how easily they spread during times of additional travel.
Bed bugs travel in the seams and folds of luggage, holdalls, folded clothing, bedding, and furniture, among other places, according to the CDC. The majority of spreading bed bugs are unaware that they are transporting stashed bed bugs as they travel from place to place, infecting areas in the process.
Bed bug bite marks resemble those of a mosquito or flea, a slightly swollen and red area that can be itchy and irritating. The bite marks can be random or appear in a straight line. Other symptoms of bed bug bites include insomnia, anxiety, and skin problems caused by the bites scratching. For more information on bed bugs click below.
