Are your petunias wilting? Are there more weeds than grass in your lawn? Is something eating your newly planted tomatoes?
If the answer to any of the above questions was yes, help in solving these and other gardening challenges is as close as the phone or the computer keyboard, thanks to the OSU Extension’s volunteer gardeners.
Franklin County’s volunteer gardeners operate a garden helpline during the growing season to help diagnose and resolve the horticultural business’s toughest problems. Gardeners can call a volunteer gardener at the Franklin County Office of OSU Extension, 2548 Carmack Road, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. on the OSU campus. Gardeners can also visit the Master Gardener Laboratory to submit specimens of plants and insects for identification.
Volunteer questions can also be asked online at fcmg@osu.edu or by calling 614-292-8421.
Volunteers can help identify problems with trees and shrubs, lawns, vegetable gardens, flowers, fruit plantations, plant diseases, insect pests, and soil management. Use of the garden advice is free of charge.
For more information, contact the Franklin County Office of OSU Extension at 614-866-6900.
