Help maintain a public garden or enjoy plants others have grown in Columbus and beyond.

Lily Festival will be in action Friday through Sunday and at 11 a.m. at Bishop Educational Gardens, 13200 Little Cola Road, Rockbridge. Stroll through three acres of gardens, take a guided nature walk, see the work of 60 nature-influenced artisans, listen to live music, and have an ice cream. • Help to beautify Goodale Park, 120 W. Goodale Blvd., by weeding, mulching, collecting trash and removing graffiti from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday. Pre-register with Workday at Friends of Goodale Park. To register, visit eventbrite.com.

• Get your hands dirty as you explore the pros and cons of soil testing “Coffee with the master gardener workshop for soil testing” Saturday at 8:00 am at the Franklin County OSU Extension Office, 2548 Carmack Road. • The Southern Orchards Civic Association’s 10th annual garden tour celebrates the theme “Life Is A Beach” next Sunday from 12 noon to 4 pm. Start at 885 Heyl and visit 8 to 10 houses plus the Ronald McDonald House Garden and Healthy Homes Urban Community Garden, where the Johnson’s Ice Cream Truck will be parked.
