• 24 playful sculptural frogs dance the tango, work in the garden, play agile frogs of course, and take part in various other activities “Ribbit the exhibition” along the Parkwood Trail or at the All-Seasons Garden at Dawes Arboretum, 7770 Jacksontown Road, near Newark until September 8th. If you are there on Sundays, attend a concert by the musical quintet The Wind and Holzplayer at 2 p.m. in the learning garden, which is included in your arboretum admission. • Find out about volunteering opportunities at the Chadwick Arboretum, 2120 Fyffe Road, in a Zoom webinar on Monday at 10 a.m. You will get to know the five gardens of the arboretum, discover projects this year and how you can help, and learn how to register and (importantly) where to park. • The Metro parks nature centersthat were closed during the pandemic are reopening. On Tuesday the Battelle Darby Creek Nature Center, 1415 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway, with its 53 foot living stream, will open its doors. Then on June 15th that Highbanks Nature Center, 9466 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, with its many displays, is available to visitors. The other nature centers will all open on June 22nd. • Two classes at the Ohio Herbal Center, 110 Mill St., Gahanna, takes place on Saturday. At 10 am, attend the first of three sessions on “The First Aid Garden,” which features plants that help with pain, injuries and everyday stress. Parts 2 and 3 will take place on July 24th and August 7th, and the total cost for the series is $ 80. At 1:00 pm, the center offers a “Backyard Search” course that covers herbs that are easy to find in urban neighborhoods and suburban courtyards.
