(Fargo, ND) – The executive director of an assisted living facility for seniors in Moorhead says they are eliminating bed bugs found in residential units.
“Our first case started around September 2022, so last September, and the case was under control, we treated it, and that was an isolated case at the time,” Kollar said.
Kollar says they have received three more reports since September from others living in the 187-unit complex. Kollar says they can’t identify how the insects entered the units. She says cleaning and restoration work has been completed in three of the four affected apartments. Kollar also says the staff helped find alternative housing for affected residents.
“It’s a new problem for us. We haven’t looked into this before and you know we’re learning more about it and it’s also unfortunate for the local residents involved. We do everything we can to support them and do everything we can to help them during the process as well,” Kollar said.
