AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA/Gray News) – Amazon officials say they have had to close one of their Texas facilities because of bed bugs.
KFDA reports that the Amazon facility is in Amarillo and the temporary closure will take effect immediately.
“We temporarily closed our Amarillo location after detecting the presence of bed bugs in the building,” Amazon spokesman Sam Stephenson said.
Officials said products from the facility will not be shipped to customers during the shutdown and customer orders will not be processed on-site.
“All employees are being paid while the site is closed. Other locations in the area are processing customer orders,” Stephenson said.
According to Amazon, the facility’s current inventory will be recycled or returned to suppliers after inspection.
