This Plant Keeps Rodents Out of Your Yard

There’s nothing quite like planting a bouquet of new flowers, or updating your landscape to wake up to everything being devoured by rodents, or starting a massive vegetable garden and watching that romaine lettuce just keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger and that walk right in front of you to harvest it, it was eaten by a little rabbit that managed to squeeze through the fence.

If you have a problem with rats, mice or rodents in your garden or just in your house, you need to take the advice of @premacultureplant’s recent TikTok video in which he describes a plant that you can plant around your home, yard and garden Garden plants can help keep annoying rodents at bay.

This low-growing ground cover is called panadol and keeps the rodents away during the time it is actively growing. It is a member of the Lamiaceae family, the same family of plants as mint. It is edible and safe for children and pets, however its taste is quite bitter so it is not necessarily used as a flavoring, although it has an odor similar to oregano.

This plant doubles as a pest control agent and also has extreme medicinal properties. By using the leaves in powder form, they have been used to treat colds and have been shown to actually shorten the duration of colds while also reducing fever and relieving a sore throat in people with tonsillitis.

The plant has short rounded leaves, resembling a clover, and branches like mint. They are light green in color but vary in hue throughout the plant, making for elegant groundcover that also serves serious purpose.
