The Termite is a creature in Grounded that is essentially a Tier 3 offspring of an Ant. They bear strong similarities to ants, aside from the fact that they don’t leave their colonies and don’t gather food like ants do.
Termites also drop some useful materials, such as These include the acid gland, termite part, and tough gunk, making them a popular farming target among players.
But finding them can be a real quest, let alone killing them. That is why we have developed this guide on how to easily find and kill termites in Grounded.
Where to find termites in Grounded
In Grounded, termites are primarily found in the termite den. To locate the area, go to the northwest area of the map, to the shed area behind the corner of the backyard. Go into the woodpile here to enter the hidden termite den that is inside.
Here you will not only find an abundance of termites, but also the Termite King and his soldiers.
Before entering the woodpile, however, note that there are multiple entrances into the termite cavity. There are four entrances at the front, with one entrance located on the top of the tarpaulin.
The entrance at the top leads directly to the deeper areas of the termite cave where fighting becomes dangerous and this is where you will find the most termites. However, the front entrances lead the player directly to the Termite King. Other than that, the area is blocked by shards and requires a Termite Ax.
How to kill termites in Grounded
Before venturing into the deeper regions of the termite cave, make sure you are well equipped so you can come out alive. Although termites look the same as ants but share the same damage as they do, they are actually Tier 3 creatures. Because of this, it is recommended that you equip yourself with Tier 3 weapons and armor before venturing into the cave.
Unlike other ants, termites tend to be very aggressive towards the player and will not hesitate to bite and spit at the player if they try to approach their burrow. Termites almost always live in groups and are very menacing in this position. However, their third-tier weapons and armor should ensure you’re well-armed to rival them in battle.
In terms of mutations, Fresh Defense can be useful as termite acid spout counts as burn damage. While blocking is possible, a shield is recommended as the termites will attack you in large clusters.
