However, we have moved up four places to 25th place on the newly published Top 50 Termite Cities List. Orkin publishes the list annually based on treatment data from the subway areas they serve.
The only other city in Pennsylvania on the list is Philadelphia at number 17.
Orkin said people were more likely to see termite damage in their homes because of the increased frequency of their homes over the past year due to the pandemic.

The top three cities on the list are Miami, Los Angeles, and Tampa. The top 5 are rounded off by Washington DC and Atlanta.
According to Orkin, signs of a termite infestation are:
· A temporary swarm of termites in your home, in the ground, or outside the home
· Cracked or bubbly paint
· Wood that sounds hollow when knocked
· Mud pipes on the inside or outside of walls or wooden beams
· Wings dropped by swarms
· Sightings of frass (termite droppings) in or near the house
To watch out for termite problems, Orkin recommends regularly monitoring drainage points around your home, especially near the foundation and roof.
