GREENSBORO, NC – Go-Forth Pest Control Vice President Leah Hazelwood has been announced as the chairperson of the Go Red for Women 2021-2022 campaign in Guilford County. The campaign focuses on the importance of women making health and wellbeing a priority, with an emphasis on wellbeing in the workplace.
Hazelwood said, “I am very honored and excited to join our leadership team in leading the Guilford Go Red for Women campaign this year to help improve the health of women in our community.”
The “Go Red for Women” campaign aims to help prevent and combat heart disease. Cardiovascular disease is the leading killer of women in the United States, killing one woman every 80 seconds. Hazelwood said, “Within seven years, I lost my father and several grandparents prematurely to heart disease. That makes me personally more passionate about educating our community about the power we have to lead longer, healthier lives with preventive lifestyle choices and we look forward to working with individuals and businesses in Guilford County to educate them about the importance of preventive lifestyle choices to support healthier workplaces and CPR training. “
Hollan Anderson, American Heart Association development director for Go Red for Women in Guilford County, said, “We are thrilled that Leah will use her experience, passion and energy to guide the lives of women in our community and in Go Red in Guilford County Families who depend on them. “
As part of the Hazelwood Chair, Go-Forth Pest Control is sponsoring the Go Red for Women Online Wellness Series. As part of this collaboration, the American Heart Association will host a series of webinars for businesses, organizations, and their employees in Guilford County. The webinars on wellness in the workplace will be announced this fall.
